Well hey, Obama does something good.
http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-net-neutrality-obama-fcc-internet-20141110-story.html
President Obama has called on federal regulators to toughen proposed net-neutrality rules for Internet traffic, including taking the controversial step of changing the way the law treats broadband providers so they are subject to stricter utility-like regulation.
In a two-page statement and a two-minute online video Monday, Obama came out in favor of the toughest possible regulation of Internet service providers on an issue that has flooded the Federal Communications Commission with a record of about 4 million public comments.
"Ever since the Internet was created, it's been organized around basic principles of openness, fairness and freedom," Obama said in the video posted on the White House website.
"There are no gatekeepers deciding which sites you get to access. There are no toll roads on the information superhighway," he said. "Abandoning these principles would threaten to end the Internet as we know it."
Good for you Ace!

"Who's the member of Kiss with the highest-charting solo record? It's the Space Ace. Ace Frehley's new "Space Invader" debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 in August."

Good to see someone defeating Monsanto.
In Guatemala, indigenous communities prevail against Monsanto
"Under the pressure of massive mobilizations, the Guatemala legislature repealed Decree 19-2014, commonly referred to as the “Monsanto Law,” which would have given the transnational chemical and seed producer a foot hold into the country’s seed market."

Not much point in really talking about the 2014 US Mid-Term Elections
The right wing has essentially taken a two-pronged approach to dividing and conquering Americans -
On the latter, there's nothing I can really point to that David Neiwert hasn't already touched upon -
http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2014/11/some-thoughts-on-2014-election.html
On the former however, there was one bright spot. Washington State voters finally ignored the threats, bullying and tactics of the gun lobby and those associated gun nuts and successfully passed a measure that finally closes the long-dangerous loophole in the law - now that will now require criminal background checks for those purchasing firearms at gun shows or over the Internet.

- Corporations pour their endless currency of cash into any candidates who'll do their bidding.
- Then there's those human beings who really don't think but are real psychopaths to the right of Tea Baggers and the ilk

The kinds of things I like to read about online - Malcolm Young's guitar sound.
I always suspected Malcolm Young's guitar sound was much thicker on Flick Of The Switch (and the previous For Those About To Rock tour). I always suspected from reading guitar magazine interviews around that time that he was using a customized Marshall 2000 series 200 Watt amp.
Now I know ... I was right:

To me, it was their last really great sounding record (Okay The Razor's Edge didn't sound bad).

Autism and HFCS - a link somewhere?
http://www.autismdailynewscast.com/study-claims-high-fructose-corn-syrup-may-be-responsible-for-autism-in-children/17881/adn
Like many aspects in life, I often think it's a combination of things that lead to various circumstances. The authors of this study below made a note to point out exactly this-
http://foodidentitytheft.com/autism-a-spectrum-of-risk-factors-that-includes-hfcs/
There will always be some idiot or moron in denial who doesn't want accept the possibility. Or perhaps they'll bloviate that such initial connections will never be substantiated. These are often the same idiots who complain about the way things, but never vote. They whine about shit they see in Facebook and cannot see the broader impact of issues like this.
These people often remind of the same kinds of fools who over a hundred years ago said that they'd never show that cigarette smoking was bad for your health, or that there's no proof global warming is caused by human activity.
As in the case of these two issues, they were proven to be wrong. It's usually just a matter of time.
"According to the research, paraoxonase 1 or PON1– a protein-coding gene responsible for detoxifying the body– is a lot lower in individuals with autism. The study attributes this to high HCFS intake, which, researchers suggest, is inevitable due to its presence in almost every food being sold on the market. The research noted that HCFS has a serious adverse effect to human health which deters the elimination of both toxins and heavy metals from the human body. According to the researchers, this is due to the fact that HCFS depletes zinc, a natural mineral responsible for bodily toxin elimination."

Dufault and Wallinga subsequently explained that the paper “does not allege consumption of HFCS causes autism,” but rather “how it may be one important risk factor of many that contributes to a cumulative or ‘total load’ of risks” and that “this study finds that (HFCS) may be a risk factor that can contribute to the development of an autism spectrum disorder.”

Lake Saint-Louis, Quebec, Canada is looking as clear as ever.
I still wouldn't swim in it. Also the local 'yacht club' can continue to go fuck themselves.

This time it'll be a little longer than normal. We'll see how well things go. After all, it does apparently keep me employed.
