Rachel Maddow=the new Glenn Beck.

See why here -

https://consortiumnews.com/2017/01/30/rachel-maddow-plays-glenn-beck/

Such questions don’t seem to bother the likes of Maddow, who has largely built her TV career on mocking, impugning and denouncing Republicans. Fair enough, except when it isn’t — and when it latches onto a Democratic party line of attack: no matter how bogus the reasoning or how dire the potential consequences for humans and all other life on this planet.

Sliding through a kind of time warp, Maddow’s performance on the night of January 26 was akin to what the most extreme Republicans have reveled in doing to incumbent Democrats in past decades — baiting them as accomplices of the Kremlin and warning against actual détente between the two countries.

Where I am

And where I want to be.

Peaceful. Happy. And can do so much more.

The fucked up side-effect of the CIA-induced fake news bullshit.

Is it really wise to antagonize a foreign power with about as much nuclear bomb material as the US has?

Thank you Abby Martin for the discussion with Dr. Cohen.

'Voluntold'.

One of the many joys of IT - especially when one is not a manager - is being volunteered for things on top of all the other things I have to do.

To me, it's a tell-tale sign of bad management when everything is considered a 'high priority' and suddenly there are close to 10 simultaneous things that have to be done.

Multi-tasking is something computers are programmed to do; not something humans are genetically predisposed to. Amazing to me how the 'higher-ups' seem to forget this.

But what's the answer you say? After all, it's one thing to bitch and complain about something, but it's quite another to you know, actually do something about it. As best as I can figure, it's a case of being honest and being diplomatic about what one can achieve and/or commit to.

Because at the end of the day, without those two things - what are you really there for?

What - you claim 2016 wasn't the hottest year on record?

Some US and UK Government Agencies disagree with you -

Based on the NOAA dataset, the following table lists the global combined land and ocean annually-averaged temperature rank and anomaly for each of the 12 warmest years on record.[13]

Top 12 warmest years (NOAA) (1880–2016)
Rank Year Anomaly °C Anomaly °F
1 2016 0.94 1.69
2 2015 0.90 1.62
3 2014 0.74 1.33
4 2010 0.70 1.26
5 2013 0.66 1.19
6 2005 0.65 1.17
7 2009 0.64 1.15
8 1998 0.63 1.13
9 2012 0.62 1.12
10 (tie) 2003 0.61 1.10
10 (tie) 2006 0.61 1.10
10 (tie) 2007 0.61 1.10

Although the NCDC temperature record begins in 1880, reconstructions of earlier temperatures based on climate proxies, suggest these years may be the warmest for several centuries to millennia, or longer.

I wonder if this was directed really at JFK ...

... or if JFK really understood the implications.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.[1]

Well look who's essentially a criminal organization?

At least, if it follow this description -

"The city of Chicago, police, and leadership within the CPD and its police officer union “acknowledge that a code of silence among Chicago police officers exists.” This “code of silence” extends to “lying and affirmative efforts to conceal evidence,” the Justice Department found.

Numerous instances were identified where officers’ accounts of “force incidents” were discredited, “in whole or part, by video evidence.” Therefore, the investigation determined the “pattern of unreasonable force” is likely more widespread than what the Justice Department was able to confirm through the investigation."

Why, it's the Chicago Police Department! At least, so says the Justice Department.

Does the global establishment need Trump, now that they've re-secured control of the US Government?

After all, the 2016 US Presidential Election was truly about one thing - ensuring the left-wing don't get in power (i.e. Bernie Sanders). If they don't get Option A (Clinton), well at least they have Option B (Trump).

Now that's been done, is Option B needed now?

A perfect and succinct summary of Barack Obama's term as PUSA.

Care of GlobalResearch.

One can surely argue that the Obama administration, on the whole, was ‘less bad’ than the previous Bush-Cheney administration, both domestically and internationally. However, because elected presidential candidate Barack Obama arrived at the White House without any administrative experience and without having his own brain trust, and seemingly, without having a clear plan on how to implement his lofty promises, he had to submit himself to the same neocon advisers and warmongering interventionists who were omnipresent in the previous administration. He ended up reacting rather than acting; following rather than leading.
That is why the Obama administration’s policies, especially foreign policy, with a few notable exceptions, did not diverge appreciably from those imperial policies pursued by the previous Bush-Cheney administrations. President Barack Obama, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has failed to live up to the promises he made and the hopes he raised.
Both neocon-inspired administrations ended up creating an enduring mess in the world that future governments, and even future generations, will have to deal with.

A testing effort put on hold that worries me.

If you live in the US, it should worry you too.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/green-light-to-monsanto-u-s-food-and-drug-administration-fda-suspends-testing-foods-for-glyphosate-residues/5556834

Here's why -

The FDA work detail calls for the examination of roughly 1,340 food samples, 82 percent domestic and 18 percent imported. The foods are to be collected from warehouse and retail stores only and are to include a variety of cereal grains, vegetables and non-flavored, whole milk and eggs. Documents obtained from the agency through the Freedom of Information Act show the agency has been testing corn, soybeanswheat, barley, sugar beetsrice and even samples of yellow popcorn and “organic white popcorn.”
McSeveney said glyphosate residues were only being analyzed for soy, corn, milk, eggs and popcorn, while the other foods are being tested for residues of other herbicides.
