Abolish the Supreme Court - ? Abby Martin makes a very strong case.

Also learned something today I wasn't aware of -

I wish this wasn't true.

But it's impossible to ignore -

All of these revelations should have been fuel for the anti-Trump media. Instead the extradition proceedings have been met with virtual silence. It seems there are two major areas where the mainstream press doesn’t push back on Trump: war, and Assange.

For four years, the news cycle has been flooded with empty allegations of Trump-Russia collusion and alleged Russian hacking. Yet, when there is a real opportunity to air a tangible and deeply significant criticism of Trump, the media falls silent.

What does this tell us? That the media’s loyalty to the intelligence community and endless war transcends its hatred towards Trump? Or that the corporate press can’t stand to admit (or even recognize) that the singular journalist they blamed for Trump’s presidency is now the most targeted by that same president?

All this talk of election 'coup' is this the new Russiagate?

So something I'm seeing in a lot of left- and progressive sites I frequent is this talk of a coup. Given the rather nefarious connection between the Democratic brand, the CIA, and various progressive outlets, I often wonder if this is just another talking point being handed to them to justify the reason for Biden losing, should Trump be declared the winner?

I've said before that it doesn't really matter whether Biden or Trump wins ... it's going to be more of the same for the 1% and the rest of us will have to deal with the pending collapse.

That being said, we know from history that various elements of the establishment typically line up along these two brands - Democrat and Republican. They too tend to fight among themselves all the time. But I am seeing this coup talk popping in a lot of places, and I'm starting to wonder ... this to me sounds a lot like Russiagate all over again. All being done to avoid discussing (again) how a progressive was cheated in the Democratic Brand primary (again) by projecting the very same behavior on their other Brand opponent? Certainly they were able to fund-raise magnificently for four years, why not use a new meme for the next four years to avoid talking about the real reasons why they lost?

How to fight the right-wing establishments?

Keep offering people things the benefit them. That in time tends to overcome sanctions, coups, etc.

My lost vacation - is being taken now.

Some part of me thinks I've been working too hard and need some rest.

The irony is in this house, rest is something I rarely end up with.

Well ... look who the people of Boliva picked in their election.

https://consortiumnews.com/2020/10/19/socialist-luis-arce-declares-victory-in-bolivia-election/

A year after former Bolivian president Evo Morales was ousted in a military coup that installed a brutal far-right regime, Morales ally Luis Arce declared victory in the South American nation’s high-stakes presidential election early Monday after exit polls showed the socialist candidate with a large advantage over his two main competitors.

One wonders how long it'll be before the American establishment engineers a coup again.

House Dems pass climate bill boosting oil drilling, lobbied for by Biden donor

Buried within the House climate bill is a provision that was once a standalone bill called the Fossil Energy Research and Development Act (HR 3607), which extends $1.64 billion in subsidies to the Energy Department to “maintain robust investments in carbon capture technologies for coal and natural gas applications” and oversee the creation of three natural gas or coal power plant pilot facilities for carbon capture. The bill further extends $722 million to the Energy Department to “carry out large-scale carbon sequestration demonstrations for geologic containment of carbon dioxide” in utilizing the captured CO2 for a drilling process called enhanced oil recovery (CO2 EOR). That’s over $2.3 billion in industry subsidies.

HR 3607 had lobbying support from electricity utility company Ameren, the Coal Utilization Research Council, and Arch Coal. It also received labor union lobbying support from the Utility Workers Union of America and the Blue-Green Alliance, a coalition whose green group members include Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council, National Wildlife Federation, and the Environmental Defense Fund. Its union members include the Utility Workers Union of America and the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters. The Coal Utilization Research Council is also a mixed membership group consisting of both coal companies and labor unions.
