When I lived in Portland many years ago, my family and I spend some time here.
It wasn't like other malls - but it had a vibe. It had a feel and look that distinguished itself from contemporaries.
I won't get into all the details of what and how and why the mall is where it's at today - you can read viewpoints about it here, and here.
I can't help but wonder how a more democratic and socialist realm would handle things.
