The pandemic, far from being “on the run,” is undergoing a new resurgence. Since Biden took office, an additional 225,000 people have died from the pandemic. All indications are that by the winter, with the new surge accompanying the spread of the Delta variant, the death toll under Biden will have exceeded that under Trump.
The policies of the Biden administration have been driven by the interests of Wall Street and the super-rich. This is why, despite occasional criticisms of Trump’s callous and anti-scientific response to the coronavirus pandemic, Biden has pursued the same policy of restoring corporate profit-making by forcing workers back to work and children back to school as quickly as possible, regardless of the dangers to their lives and health.
Where I disagree however, is in their recommendations - I don't think the 'Socialist Equality Party' is the answer however.
They are too small, and have shown they are unable to actually build coalitions with other organizations to achieve their own goals.
For me, one should pursue policies and processes that benefit everyone, even those whom you disagree with.
You know, like everyone having health care when they need it (not access, and not tiered quality). But that would benefit those who don't agree with that, as well as those whom I disagree with on other issues. I still pursue it because health care is a right everyone should have.
Same thing with creating an actual livable wage in this country, housing for everyone, ending all the loopholes and provisions that make the rich and powerful not take any responsibility or accountability for paying their fair share of things like taxes and so forth, eliminating all the racist practices in our justice system, closing down and curtailing armed conflicts -both abroad and at home - by shutting down our military bases, de-funding armed polices, and bringing the MIC and Deep State under control and facing justice for their past actions, and of course stopping climate change.
To do all those things (and more) requires making contact with people of all sorts of political views, not just one's own, and that's not something I see this party doing.
A better choice? The People's Party looks promising -> https://peoplesparty.org/
