So in this regard, elections in Canada - like the United States - have very little value to the majority of people (i.e. the voters), because the 'candidates' have largely been vetted by the elites, the rich, the powerful, the legacy media, and so on.
Canada is NOT a democracy, and never has been.
Like the United States, Canada is all about the theater or illusion of democracy. The establishment and media push this narrative to the Canadian public to keep them obedient and malleable and supportive of a system that is actively set against their general interests and common needs.
The major political 'parties' are all co-opted and controlled by the establishment (just like the US), and serve their interests only.
Only when the majority in Canada see their political/economic system for the sham that it is, will things change for the better for all.
Today's 'elections' - along with its coverage in the media -won't make the sham of the system visble to the Canadian public and majority.
