Just endless virtue signaling, and no value to employees at all.
At my employer, I got a note about some site where I can view how 'appreciated' I supposedly am.
In it, I saw myself, among a list of others in the group I'm in, and each name had their manager listed.
Which means each manager, gets listed multiple times - yeah that's really classless. It makes me feel the opposite of 'appreciated', or even special for that matter.
If employers (read, corporations) really want to show any kind of appreciation to employees - they could -
- Pay people based on productivity, instead of the lowest/cheapest rate corporations choose to get away with.
- Better benefits around medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Paid sick days (Vacation is NOT sick time)
- Paid parental leave
- Defining and establishing clear career paths for employees
I could go on, but I'll stop there, as that was literally what comes to mind.
