Just survived a bunch job layoffs today. In a place making money.
Oddly enough I didn't really survive due to brains, skills, or even personality. I made it mostly because of some (rather coincidentally lucky) choices of career to pursue and it worked. I chose to try a new role a couple of years back, and it's working out.
At least now I shouldn't complain too much.
