The greatest threat to society (and/or humanity, expanding beyond our horizons, improving the quality of life, etc) is institutionalized stupidity. When you see stupid people in positions of authority over others, you know the system or process that put that in place is fucked up.
Why? Because I've found stupid people don't use their authority for any useful purpose. They simply abuse it and others in doing so, and that screws us all.
