That is - why to the US-based 1% entities continuing down the path of the decline of the capitalist system that has propped up their profits and existence of dominance - when they know this is happening?
I think it's because they believe that they can then reorganize American society into a more fascist one, whereby the 'costs' of capitalism (i.e. maintaining elections and the illusion of democracy) are no longer there.
In this case - if that happens - that's game over for the planet.
