Accenture getting rid of annual employee performance reviews?
About time someone abandoned this relic of the 20th Century.

Just our luck.
A whole summer going by with sun and dryness ...
The ONE FUCKING DAY we decide to go to an outdoor ballgame ...
"Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. "

The strange days of this Summer.
I think this was the first real day this Summer (and in quite a few months) where we didn't have to use a fan.
Yeah, we're poor (that whole living paycheck to paycheck thing; just scraping by), and we can't afford air conditioning.

Sure I'd like the rail company to take accountability for oil tank car spills

What I found disturbing was I wasn't even aware there was a derailment last year.

US and Cuba: We don't hate each other anymore.

"On July 20, 2015, the Cuban and U.S. ”interests sections” in Washington and Havana respectively were upgraded to embassies.[10]"

So passive-aggresive are those in the Pacific NorthWest
Our weather is so much like us.
LARGE dark thunderous clouds and tiny little mist.
And just like our weather ... so goes our NHL bids ...

$2M fee scare off NHL bidders in Seattle
Can you tell it's summer?
Everything just seems to slow down, especially the number of posts I make.
I think it's laziness. That and/or my keyboard really sucks.

Ah, always relying on testing to solve quality issues.
http://www.zdnet.com/article/mandatory-windows-10-home-updates-the-good-the-bad-and-the-potentially-ugly/?tag=nl.e539&s_cid=e539&ttag=e539&ftag=TRE17cfd61
However, I am hoping that:
- The testing of patches has been improved given that many hundreds of millions of users won't be able to opt out or block a toxic update.
- Microsoft will show restraint in what it pushes down the pipes to users. Toolbars and similar assorted junk are not cool.
- Microsoft will be conscious of those on bandwidth-limited connections.

"... a delusional perspective that arguably creates an existential threat to humanity’s survival."
https://consortiumnews.com/2015/07/15/usisraelisaudi-behavior-problems/
That's how I view the American Right-Wing, as well as the conglomerate establishment that funds it.
But you know, the thing that's also been bugging me is how the American 'Left' has been acting about this Iran deal. - never mind that the US - the only nation known to use nuclear weapons, the nation with the worst track record for nuclear safety, and still cannot openly admit that's its lone satellite in the Middle East has nuclear weapons, despite indirectly doing so - they act as if Iran is still the menace in this situation.
You have to wonder who's really truly being delusional here -the right wing in power, or the left that isn't, but tries to act like they are tougher?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Flood_of_1987
"The Montreal Flood of 1987 happened on July 14 of that year when a series of strong thunderstorms crossed the island of Montreal, Canada, between the noon hour and 2:30 p.m. Over 100 millimetres (3.9 in) of rain fell during this very short period of time. The sewer systems were overwhelmed by the deluge and the city was paralyzed by the flooded roads. Autoroute 15, a sunken highway also known as the Decarie Expressway, soon filled with water, trapping motorists. Some 350,000 houses lost electricity, and tens of thousands had flooded basements. Two people died, one in a submerged car and another who was electrocuted.[1]"

Global Warming leads to longer flights which lead to Global Warming.
Warming Leads to Longer Flights, More Emissions
"“Normally, when we think about the airline industry and climate change, we think about how global aviation contributes to climate change through such means as carbon dioxide and aerosol emissions — and for good reason,” Karnauskas said. “However, in our study, we’re flipping this around. We’re trying to probe the extent to which climate change might influence the airline industry beginning with shorter-term natural cycles that we can readily observe with existing real-world data.”"More here - http://www.climatecentral.org/news/warming-longer-flights-more-emissions-19234
