A reminder of how small I can allow myself to be in my life.

Seems as though the more I try to assert myself, the stupider I look, especially in a world I don't want to be in.

What I mean is - I think that as long as I am not knowledgeable of the world I am in, any kind of question asked with the slightest amount of curiosity is met with a slapdown of sorts.

I should be thankful for the knowledge, but reminds me that I don't belong in this world of IT; with all the careerists and narcissists and sociopaths that mask everything with 'friendly reminders' and not-so-subtle implied threats. I am not that, nor do I want to be.
