That's it! I figured it out - we're NOT living in 2026.

Turns out we all ARE living in 1984!

Okay - not the year 1984, I mean the book 'Nineteen Eighty-Four', by George Orwell ...

☮️ Bored of Peace

Donald Trump convened the first meeting of his so-called “Board of Peace” this week. Despite much fanfare, key nations refused to join, the Pope turned him down, and he struggled to even stay awake during the plodding and absurd speeches. Our writers covered it extensively.

If I needed a reminder that CEOs are psychopaths, here's one.

At first I thought this was an early April Fool's Joke, but no.

Prince Andrew arrested - what exactly does that mean?

And what does it mean for this guy?

Fucking Duh. I've been saying ever since it happened that Kurt Cobain didn't kill himself.

Turns out I'm not the only one.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/kurt-cobain-may-have-been-murdered-new-report-claims/ar-AA1W5zoi

Kurt Cobain died on April 5, 1997 at the age of 27 in his home in Seattle. The cause of death was ruled to be a self-inflicted shotgun wound. Now, almost three decades later, a new report suggests that Cobain was murdered, with the perpetrators forging a suicide note.

"There are things in the autopsy that go, well, wait, this person didn't die very quickly of a gunshot blast," said independent researcher Michelle Wilkins. "The necrosis of the brain and liver happens in an overdose. It doesn't happen in a shotgun death."

Burnett and Wilkins propose that Cobain was drugged against his will, causing a death by heroin overdose. The killers then allegedly shot the rock star and made the scene look like a suicide.

Probably the single best commentary I've seen about Cuba in a long time.

Another unpleasant weekend is coming.

Yes - work related. No surprise there.

Unlike previous ones, this is a culmination of a lot of things that have been building over several months, perhaps years.

I'm not looking forward to it. I'm hopeful to survive it by the beginning of next week.

It has not been pleasant. It certainly has not been fun.

We'll see hot it goes.

Which genocide of Palestinians is worse?

The dramatic type perpetrated on the part of Palestine that's Gaza, or the more methodical one in the part of the West Bank?

https://mondoweiss.net/2026/02/how-israel-is-eroding-life-for-palestinians-in-the-west-bank/

What is being constructed, then, is not a temporary crisis but a durable condition. The banking blockage in the West Bank is not designed to be resolved, but managed. Settler violence is not an aberration to be corrected, but calibrated. Legal annexation is not a deviation from international norms, but part of it is the new normal.

The question is not whether these processes will intensify—they already are intensifying—but whether those subjected to them will recognize the pattern in time to interrupt it, whether global attention can be sustained in the absence of spectacular violence, whether solidarity can attach itself to the slow grind of compression as fiercely as it once responded to the sudden shock of massacre.

Just when you think an empire couldn't get more depraved.

This is about as bad all Israel and Epstein.

This is serious form of 'fucked up'.

https://www.blackagendareport.com/organ-theft-neo-cannibalism-and-israels-trade-palestinian-death

Even more fucked up, as how long this has been going on for.

It does seem to me quite odd in one aspect. Given the rather obvious supremacy-based belief structure Zionism is built on, I find it weird that they'd extract vital organs and other parts of the bodies of the people they hate so much; and are trying to eradicate.

'rules-based world' = Rules for thee, not me.

It's a reminder that the Western/Crapitalist governments are full of shit. They represent the interests of the rich and powerful, and that is all.

https://peoplesdispatch.org/2026/02/08/the-hypocrisy-of-a-rules-based-world/

Recently in Davos, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney did something unusual. He admitted (almost casually) that the so-called rules-based international order has never quite been what it claimed to be. That the rules were unevenly applied. That the strongest routinely exempted themselves. That integration, once sold as mutual benefit, has increasingly become a tool of coercion.

For a brief second, one could almost feel relief. Not because the truth was new – but because it was finally spoken aloud. We have lived under this system for generations. Born into it. Disciplined by it. Told it was neutral, benevolent, inevitable. We were instructed to respect “rules” written elsewhere, interpreted elsewhere, enforced elsewhere – usually against us. The outcome was never order, but obedience; never justice, but management.

And yet, the system endured – not because it was true, but because everyone agreed to behave as if it were. This is the real source of its power.

And also its fatal weakness.

A very good talk.

And raises a LOT of critical questions.

Well I finally started.

Got my musical equipment at last.

It took awhile (and there's still a ton to learn), but I was able to create something fairly fast, and in the way I want to do it.

Obviously it's going to take some time - as well I'll need a new desk.

More to follow on that soon.

When one asks why the US is attacking Venezuela, is it just because of the oil?

I mean, that is a big part of it, but it's much more.

It's because Venezuela represents a true affront to the neo-liberal capitalist system the US has been since Day One.

It's about enabling their people in a way the United States doesn't want to in any with theirs.

https://peoplesdispatch.org/2026/02/05/how-venezuela-poses-an-unusual-and-extraordinary-threat-to-the-us-agenda/

The Venezuelan “threat”

When President Hugo Chávez came to power in 1999, a revolutionary process began that would set out to repay the “social debt” owed to the Venezuelan people, beginning by dedicating 75% of national spending to social investment – funds, importantly, generated by the country’s historically predominant oil sector. Through missions that began the year Chávez was elected, the country elevated its population out of poverty and illiteracy, reaching a 100% literacy rate, with more than three million people learning how to read and write (Mission Robinson); training 6,000 professionals in universities and graduating one million high school students (Mission Sucre); granting nearly 5 million homes to families across the country (Mission Vivienda); building health clinics in 320 of Venezuela’s 355 municipalities (Mission Barrio Adentro); and restoring the eyesight of some 300,000 Venezuelans while providing eye surgery to 1 million (Mission Milagro).

President Nicolás Maduro has continued this legacy, despite the duress imposed by the US-led unilateral coercive measures imposed in the years following Chávez’s death, ensuring not only that the country’s resources benefit the well-being of the majority, but also that power is given back to the people through a model of direct democracy. Weeks before he was kidnapped, for instance, Maduro convened the Constitutional Congress of the Working Class, the culmination of 22,110 assemblies in workplaces across the country in which delegates debated and made proposals to the president about the future of the country’s labor sector and productive processes, such as strengthening domestic production of machinery components in order to reduce external technological dependency. Aprobada (“approved”), Maduro told delegate María Alejandra Grimán Rondón as she presented him with the conclusions of the congress in front of a packed auditorium; for another proposal, “the method still needs to be refined”, he replied, outlining next steps for further debate.

What can I say about the Epstein files released that hasn't already been said?

Other than, Israel.

Margaret sums it up best here -> https://www.blackagendareport.com/epstein-files-shows-how-elites-move

Epstein was Jewish, but as documents now tell us, he was also a believer in Jewish supremacy who worked with officials in allegedly democratic nations on behalf of the international ruling class and zionists. Epstein’s ties to Israel are well known to anyone who has been following this story, but his attitudes about people who aren’t Jews, “goyim,” as he often wrote in his emails, is a new revelation. “This is the way the jew make money... and made a fortune in the past ten years, selling short the shipping futures, let the goyim deal in the real world,” is just one of the missives found among Epstein’s emails. When a Hollywood publicist asked if an event would be “100% Jew night,” he replied, “No, goyim in abundance-JPMorgan execs, brilliant WASPs.”

Any discussion of the topic of Jewish financial and political power is usually off limits, a sure means of being labeled anti-semitic. But the damning tranche of files and Epstein’s own words give a space for reporting what is documented.

What has been missing is a deeper dive into the web of relationships with prominent people such as corporate leaders, the Israeli government, and international financiers like Epstein himself. The emphasis on sex trafficking and sexual assaults of minors has quite rightly garnered great attention, but there are many more things we should know about Epstein and what his relationships tell us about how the world actually works.

The ultimate platitude that describes capitalism.

Capitalism is the democracy of delusion for the powerful, and the illusion of democracy for everyone else.

How's that for a platitude?

Had some issues with the blog template.

You may have noticed some black and white backgrounds, along with some black and white texts, all being messed up.

Anyways, I reverted back to an older and simpler format. We'll see if that works.

Can people finally concede that Israel is the ultimate settler/colonial expression of American Exceptionalism?

https://mondoweiss.net/2026/02/the-new-era-of-israeli-expansionism-and-the-war-economy-that-fuels-it/

... the war economy provides growth, foreign currency earnings, and political insulation. This creates a structural incentive for permanent mobilization: war sustains demand, shields the government from accountability, and reinforces a worldview in which force is treated as the primary currency of international relations.

In this configuration, military aggression and territorial expansionism are the mechanisms through which the Israeli economy now seeks to reproduce itself. As a result, Israel’s governing coalition rests on permanent securitization. The war economy has become the organizing principle of political survival and regime insurance.
